Save the planet- why?
September 11, 2009
The cheapest and easiest way to combat climate change, according to a report by the London School of Economics and Political Science, is by sterilisation and abortion. Humans, they say, is the planet’s worst enemy: We are destroying our earth.
Which brings me to a question:
Are we trying to save the planet for our children?
Or are we trying to save the planet from our children?

That report sounds horrible and seems to miss the point.
Who are we trying to save? Depends who you are talking about. Some people seem to think people have less value than the environment, but that makes little sense. Most of us value human beings the most, so our children are more important.

I agree, people have more value.
But perhaps under the view that man lives for less than a century, the planet for millions of years, the view above may just be seen as sensible – by some. But if someone believe that man is eternal and this planet, which will end, is a place where many eternal souls need to spend some time and learn some lessons, that person can value people more than the earth, while not forgetting about earth either.
